Care guide

A little care, for a long life.

Handmade porcelain is durable, but it is not indestructible. A few small habits will keep the glaze bright and the edges intact.

Everyday use

Hand wash with warm water and a mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive sponges, steel wool and citrus-based cleaners, which can dull the glaze over time. Dry with a soft cloth and let the piece air fully before storing.

Our porcelain is food-safe and free of lead and cadmium. The stoneware is sealed and finished for everyday use. If a piece has a gold detail, do not put it in the microwave.

Heat and cold

Porcelain tolerates normal kitchen temperatures, but sudden changes can cause hairline cracks. Let a cold piece come to room temperature before adding hot water, and never place a hot piece on a cold stone surface.

Dishwasher use: only pieces marked dishwasher safe. When in doubt, hand wash. A gentle cycle, low heat and a mild detergent are safest.

Stains and marks

Tea and coffee can leave a faint patina inside a cup. A paste of baking soda and water, left for ten minutes and rinsed well, usually lifts it. For metal marks on a saucer, a little white vinegar on a soft cloth will help.

Storage

Stack bowls and plates with a soft cloth between them. Hang or store cups by the handle, not on the rim. Keep a bud vase upright; the narrow neck is stronger than the body but still sensitive to a knock.

If something arrives broken

Send us a photo within 48 hours of delivery. We will replace the piece or refund it — no need to return the broken one. Every order is double-boxed, but clay and long journeys do not always agree.
